Removing and installing vane pump
General information

Vane pump servicing work is not envisaged. In the event of complaints, perform pressure test and leak test to establish the cause. Replace vane pump if fault is found.

  • ◆ Always check steering system for leaks in the event of a lack of fluid in the reservoir.
  • ◆ If a leak is found in the area of the pipe connections, start by checking pipes/pipe connections for leaks, re-tighten if necessary and wipe dry.
  • ◆ Replacement pumps have no fluid fill. Prior to installation they are therefore to be filled with hydraulic fluid G 002 000 and cranked by hand to avoid the possibility of noise whilst driving or pump damage.
