◆ Determine test preconditions .

◆ Connect fault reader V.A.G 1551 and select "Brake electronics" with address word 03 => Page 01-4

◆ Check the control unit version => Page 01-226 and press the ⇒ key.

◆ Press keys 0 and 2 for "Interrogate fault memory" function and press Q key to confirm entry.
Notes:

◆ Each fault is assigned a 5-digit fault code. It is listed in the left-hand column of the fault table. The message identifying the fault and the fault code will be printed out on the printer of fault reader V.A.G 1551 if the Print button is pressed. The fault code does not appear on the display of V.A.G 1551.

◆ The content of the fault memory is retained until it is erased. => Page 01-13.

◆ Sporadic faults are additionally indicated by "/SP" on the right-hand side of the display.
-
◆ Static faults which cannot be detected when the vehicle is stationary are also identified with "/SP" after the ignition has been switched off and then on again.

◆ The following table includes all the faults which can be detected by the control unit -J104 and displayed and printed out by V.A.G 1551. Faults are listed according to fault codes.
