Renewing connecting pipe for washer jet
  Note
On vehicles with Valeo rear window wiper motor, a defective connecting pipe for washer jet can be replaced by fitting the repair set -8L0 998 711-. Renewing the entire Valeo rear window wiper motor is then not necessary.
   
Procedure
–  Remove washer jet → Chapter.
–  Remove wiper arm → Chapter.
–  Remove trim at bottom of rear lid → Rep. Gr.70.
–  Disconnect washer fluid hose -1- from connecting pipe -3- for washer jet.
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and detach cover -2-.

–  Renew drive shaft.
–  Working from inside, insert connecting pipe -2- in cover -1-.
–  Fit new seal on rear window wiper motor.
–  Carefully insert connecting pipe in drive shaft and secure cover.
–  Press washer fluid hose onto connecting pipe for washer jet.
l  Washer fluid hose must engage audibly in washer jet connection.
–  Install trim at bottom of rear lid → Rep. Gr.70.
–  Adjust wiper arm → Chapter.
–  Insert washer jet with new O-ring -3- in connecting pipe.
l  The spray nozzle must face upwards.
–  Adjust washer jet.
t  Vehicles up to 01.1999 → Chapter.
t  Vehicles from 02.1999 → Chapter.
