Adaption channels 10 … 30

Adaption channel 10 - Remaining mileage prior to “Oil change service” This function is used to adapt the remaining mileage prior to the next “Oil change service” on replacing the dash panel insert. Display on -VAS 5051B-: 1 -  Enter channel number –  On the keypad -2-, touch keys 10 for “Adaption channel 10” and confirm the entry by touching the Q key.

Display on -VAS 5051B-: 1 -  Channel 10 reading and testing 4 -  Bar set to current adaption value   Note t  The value “15” is the factory-set maximum mileage of 15000 km for the “Oil change service”. t  Entries can only be made in 1000 km steps; the display is also given in units of 1000 km. t  The value to be entered is decremented to 0 km. t  Adaption must be performed in kilometres even in countries with speedometer display in miles. This involves converting the adaption value from miles to kilometres. –  Use the bar to alter the adaption value ⇒ “A - Altering adaption value by way of bar” → Anchor. Or –  Alter the adaption value by means of direct entry ⇒ “B - Altering adaption value by means of direct entry” → Anchor. –  Enter the adaption value.

Example:	Remaining mileage prior to next oil change service “8000 km”

Note The fault message “Function unknown or cannot be implemented at present” appears if an implausible value is entered.

Display on -VAS 5051B- following successful adaption. Example: 1 -  Channel 10 value 8 stored –  Terminate function “10 - Adaption” by touching ← key.

Adaption channel 11 - Remaining mileage prior to “Inspection service” This function is used to adapt the remaining mileage prior to the next “Insepction service” on replacing the dash panel insert. Display on -VAS 5051B-: 1 -  Enter channel number –  On the keypad -2-, touch keys 11 for “Adaption channel 11” and confirm the entry by touching the Q key.

Display on -VAS 5051B-: 1 -  Channel 11 reading and testing 4 -  Bar set to current adaption value   Note t  The value “30” is the factory-set maximum mileage of 30000 km for the “Inspection service”. t  Entries can only be made in 1000 km steps; the display is also given in units of 1000 km. t  The value to be entered is decremented to 0 km. t  Adaption must be performed in kilometres even in countries with speedometer display in miles. This involves converting the adaption value from miles to kilometres. –  Use the bar to alter the adaption value ⇒ “A - Altering adaption value by way of bar” → Anchor. Or –  Alter the adaption value by means of direct entry ⇒ “B - Altering adaption value by means of direct entry” → Anchor. –  Enter the adaption value.

Adaption channel 12 - Remaining time prior to “Inspection service” This function is used to adapt the remaining time prior to the next “Insepction service” on replacing the dash panel insert. Display on -VAS 5051B-: 1 -  Enter channel number –  On the keypad -2-, touch keys 12 for “Adaption channel 12” and confirm the entry by touching the Q key.

Display on -VAS 5051B-: 1 -  Channel 12 reading and testing 4 -  Bar set to current adaption value   Note t  The value “37” is the factory-set maximum time interval of 370 days for the “Inspection service”. t  Entries can only be made in 10 day steps; the display is also given in units of 10 days. t  The value to be entered is decremented to 0 days. –  Use the bar to alter the adaption value ⇒ “A - Altering adaption value by way of bar” → Anchor. Or –  Alter the adaption value by means of direct entry ⇒ “B - Altering adaption value by means of direct entry” → Anchor. –  Enter the adaption value.

Example:	Remaining time for inspection service “170 days”

Note The fault message “Function unknown or cannot be implemented at present” appears if an implausible value is entered.

Adaption channel 30 - Correction of fuel gauge sender characteristic curve This function can be used to correct the resistance characteristic curve of the fuel gauge sender if the display in the dash panel insert does not correspond to the actual tank content. Display on -VAS 5051B-: 1 -  Enter channel number –  On the keypad -2-, touch keys 30 for “Adaption channel 30” and confirm the entry by touching the Q key.

Display on -VAS 5051B-: 1 -  Channel 30 reading and testing 2 -  Fuel gauge sender 4 -  Bar set to current adaption value   Note t  The value “128” is the factory-set mean resistance characteristic curve of the fuel gauge sender. t  The resistance characteristic curve of the fuel gauge sender can be altered in the range 120 … 136 Ω. t  On dash panel insert replacement → Chapter. –  Use the bar to alter the adaption value ⇒ “A - Altering adaption value by way of bar” → Anchor. Or –  Alter the adaption value by means of direct entry ⇒ “B - Altering adaption value by means of direct entry” → Anchor. –  Enter the adaption value.

Example:	Resistance characteristic curve of fuel gauge sender “132Ω”
