| Components indicated as being faulty by the -VAS 5051B- are not to be immediately replaced, but rather: Start by using the current flow diagram to check the wiring and connectors to these components. The earth connections are also to be checked on the basis of the current flow diagram. This is particularly important in the case of “sporadic” faults. |

| On completion of repair work, interrogate fault memory again and erase. |

| After performing repairs, additionally interrogate the fault memory of the engine control unit and erase the entry “Engine control unit disabled”. Check and if necessary eliminate any other faults stored. |
