Navigation system II-D (Navigation system plus) (as of CW 48/99)
Fault messages on the screen

If there is a fault in the system either a fault is stored in the fault memory and/or a fault message on the control unit display for operating electronics, Navigation -J402.

Currently the following fault message can be shown on the display:
 
→ Indicated on display of the navigation system II-D
    RDS-TMC-Tuner:
    Connection to RDS-TMC
    Tuner is faulty or could
    not be established.

This fault message appears with the following situations:

  • ◆ None-existent or faulty CAN communication between the control unit for the operating electronics, navigation -J402 and the interface for navigation -R94. (Open circuit or wiring not connected).
  • ◆ Interface for navigation -R94 defective

When this fault occurs no RDS-TMC-traffic announcements are received and the setting menu stopping function cannot be called up.

The fault message is indicated until the fault was rectified or was confirmed by pressing the RETURN key.
