Navigation System II (Navigation System Plus)
General description

The radio navigation system (RNS) combines the functions of a navigation system with those of a reliable RDS car radio. It is also possible to receive television programmes via a TV tuner.

Installed in the double DIN housing are:

  • ◆ an RDS radio receiver
  • ◆ a 5 coloured liquid crystal display
  • ◆ a navigation system with angular acceleration sensor and GPS satellite receiver
  • ◆ and a CD-ROM drive for the navigation system

installed.

A TV tuner for receiving television programmes and video text is installed in the luggage compartment.

ACD changer can be installed to extend the range of audio equipment.

Notes:

  • ◆ In the event of complaints, familiarity with the functions and operation of the relevant radio navigation system is essential.
  • ◆ Additional information

=> Operating instructions

  • ◆ For retrofitting, repair work and troubleshooting

=> Current Flow Diagrams, Electrical Fault-finding and Fitting Locations

=> Installation instructions

  • ◆ Comprehensive assembly instructions, e.g. removing and installing trims, are included in the General Body Assembly Workshop Manual.
  • ◆ Use of other radio units may impair the aerial amplifier as the radio navigation system is equipped with a "remote powered aerial", which means that the power supply is fed to the aerial amplifier (including TV aerial amplifier) via the centre conductor of the high-frequency cable.

Notes on CD retrofitting:

The wiring harness for the CD changer is installed in the vehicle during preparation for CD installation. The connection cable can only be used for original Audi CD changers.
