Self-diagnosis of control unit for seat adjustment with memory function
Adaption

In the case of a "used" control unit, storing of the vehicle data in the control unit is enabled via the adaption function.

Preconditions:

  • ◆ Connect fault reader V.A.G 1551 .
  • ◆ Switch the ignition on.

Performing adaption (function 10)

 
→ Display:
Rapid data transfer    HELP
Select function XX
  • ‒ Press keys-1- and -0- (10 selects function: "Adaption").
 
→ Display:
Rapid data transfer    Q
10 - Adaptation
  • ‒ Confirm input with Q key.
 
→ Display:
Adaption
Feed in channel No. XX
  • ‒ Press keys -8- and -1- ("channel 81" is selected.)

Note:

  • ◆ Incorrect entries can be corrected after pressing the C key.
  • ‒ Confirm input with Q key.
 
→ Display:
Channel 81    Adaption    1    ⇒
PIN ?    
  • ‒ Enter 20771 and press the ⇒button.
 
→ Display:
Channel 81    Adaption    20771    ⇒
  • ‒ Press the ⇒key.
 
→ Display:
Channel 81    Adaption    20771    Q
Store changed value?
  • ‒ Confirm input with Q key.
 
→ Display:
Channel 81    Adaption    20771    ⇒
Changed value is stored.
  • ‒ Press the ⇒key.
 
→ Display:
Rapid data transfer    HELP
Select function XX
  • ‒ Press keys -0- and -6-. (06 selects the function "End output").

If the adaption value (PIN) is incorrectly entered three times, the adaption function is disabled.

 
→ Display:
Channel 81    Adaption    00000    Q
Disabled    10

The current disabled time in minutes (e.g. 10) is indicated in field 2, on the bottom line.

  • ‒ Press the Q key.
  • ‒ Recommence adaption after the indicated disabled time has elapsed.

If adaption is performed and no new vehicle data is available, the following appears:

 
→ Display:
Channel 81    Adaption    00000    ⇒
Bus not OK
  • ‒ Press the ⇒key.

In this case, adaption is not necessary.
