Encoding memory for driver's seat airbag control unit

Notes:

  • ◆ Read out coding before removing the existing control unit.
  • ◆ If coding cannot be read out, encode using standard coding (00002).
  • ◆ Control unit is not factory-coded.
  • ◆ Encoding is carried out with fault reader V.A.G 1551.

If the appropriate encoding is not displayed at the V.A.G 1551 or the control unit has been replaced the encoding of the control unit is carried out as follows:

Performing function "07 - Code control unit"
 
→ Display:
Rapid data transfer    HELP
Select function XX
  • ‒ Press keys -0- and -7-.
 
→ Display:
Rapid data transfer    Q
07 - Encoding control unit
  • ‒ Confirm input with Q key.
 
→ Display:
Encoding control unit
Enter code number XXXXX    (0-32000)
  • ‒ Enter coding for control unit memory via the keypad:

00002
  • ◆ 00001: Selecting recall button items via remote control key.
  • ◆ 00002: Selection via remote control key, of last seat / mirror position as vehicle was locked (automatic).
