Removing and installing rear lid
Removing and installing rear lid
Removing
–  Remove rear lid trim → Trim, insulation; Rep. gr.70.
–  Unplug electrical connectors and disconnect/detach hose for rear window washer system.
–  Open and prop up rear lid.
   
–  Use screwdriver to lift retaining spring -3- as shown and lift gas strut -1- off ball-head pin -2- (top).

–  Detach cover -1- for rear lid hinge and cable duct -2- from rear lid hinge -arrows-.
  A55-0197
–  Remove bolts -arrows- (left and right).
–  Second person is required to support and lift off rear lid.
–  Detach rear lid.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order; note the following:
–  When installing tighten to 21 Nm.
–  Adjust rear lid → Chapter.
