Centring holes for bumper guards
Centring holes for bumper guards
Up to VIN 400 000
  Note
Centring holes for bumper guard must be drilled into new bumper BEFORE it is painted.
   
1 - Bumper (rear)
q   There are marks for centring holes in inside of cover -arrows- (as shown).
q   Prior to painting, use Ø 8.5 mm bit to drill through cover at the points shown (3x).

   
Bonding on centralising pins in bumper guard
  Note
Sticker -3- (3x) and centralising pin -4- (3x) are supplied with bumper guard -1-.
–  Pull protective film off double-sided sticker -3- and affix to centralising pin -4-.
–  Pull off second protective film and position centralising pin on marking -arrow- on bumper guard.
–  Pull protective film off double-sided adhesive tape -2- and press bumper guard -1- onto bumper.

Installing support piece
  Note
The support piece only has to be installed if you are fitting a new bumper cover.
–  To remove, press catch -arrow- to side and detach support piece downwards out of cover -1-.
–  Fit support piece -2- in cover as shown and make sure it engages.
–  Do not remove retaining tab until you have completed installation of the cover.

Releasing support piece
  WARNING
Never release support piece following removal, as this could cause injury.
When re-installing the "old" bumper cover, the "old" support piece can remain installed.
–  If bumper cover is renewed, new support piece must be clipped into bumper cover from underneath.
–  Once you have completed installation of the bumper cover, release support piece by pulling retaining tab -arrow-.
  Note
Pulling the release tab releases the support piece, so that it then supports the bumper cover against the cross member.
