Removing undamaged window Side window with moulding

–  Mask area all around edges of window with fabric-backed adhesive tape -6- to prevent damage to paintwork. –  Pierce adhesive bead from inside using awl from -V.A.G 1755- at top of side window -1- towards B-pillar. –  Pull cutting wire -4- through to inside and attach to handle -3-. –  Secure other end in pull handle -5-. –  Have a second person pierce adhesive bead at bottom with handle, as shown. –  Pull cutting wire downwards on outside through adhesive bead -2-.   Note It is easier to cut the adhesive in the corners if you apply the cutting wire with a sawing motion.

–  Pull cutting wire -4- inwards and pierce adhesive bead -2- with handle -3- at rear of D-pillar. –  Pull cutting wire -4- to rear through adhesive bead with handle.

–  Pull cutting wire -4- inwards and pierce adhesive bead -2- with handle -3- at top of C-pillar. –  Pull cutting wire -4- upwards through adhesive bead with handle. –  Take window out of opening. Side window (high-gloss package) –  Removing C/D-pillar trim

–  To protect paintwork, bond adhesive tape -3- onto C and D-pillars and onto side panel. –  Pull trim strip -1- to front out of retaining clips -2-.   WARNING Take care not to bend roof trim strip.

–  Starting at C-pillar and working from underneath, use plastic wedge to carefully pull roof trim strip -1- out of retaining clips. –  Also prise roof trim strip out of retaining clips at D-pillar and pull roof trim strip off downwards. –  Route cutting wire around side window as shown in illustration.

–  Secure ends X and Y in two handles from special tool -V.A.G 1351-. –  Employing a gentle sawing motion, pull cutting wire in direction of -arrow A- and cut through adhesive bead at bottom of side panel and at roof frame. –  Then pull cutting wire downwards in direction of -arrow B- through adhesive bead. –  Take window out of window opening.
