Removing and installing side trim (tunnel side)

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095-

t	Seat repair stand -VAS 6136-

Backrest

2 -	Side trim (sill side; rear)

3 -	Plastic rivets (2x)

4 -

Bolt

5 -

Bracket

6 -	Retainers (2x)

7 -

Lug

8 -	Side trim (sill side; front)

9 -

Fastener

10 -	Connector (3x)

11 -

Bracket

12 -	Side trim (tunnel side)

Removing

–	Remove seat → Chapter.

–	Attach seat repair stand -VAS 6136- to engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095-.

–	Attach front seat to seat repair stand -VAS 6136-.

–	Detach fastening strip of footwell trim from side trim → Fig..

–	Apply screwdriver to head of plastic rivets -13- (2x).

–	Twist screwdriver to prise out plastic rivets -13- (2x).

–	Lift off side trim -12-.

t	Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

–	Insert fastening strip of footwell trim in retainers on side trim → Fig..

13 -	Plastic rivets (2x)

Disconnecting fastening strip of footwell trim

–	Disengage fastening strip -1- of footwell trim -2- from retainers -4- (2x) on side trim -3-.
