Removing and installing control unit
Removing and installing control unit
  Note
t  Control unit for seat with seat memory and with electrical adjustment is located beneath driver's seat.
t  If control unit is defective, upper frame of seat pan with backrest must be removed → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1783-
  W00-0990
t  Engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095-
  W00-1273
t  Seat repair stand -VAS 6136-
Removing
–  Remove seat → Chapter.
–  Attach seat repair stand -VAS 6136- to engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095-.
–  Attach front seat to seat repair stand -VAS 6136-.
  W00-1274
–  Remove bolts -2- (2x).
Tightening torque: 1.5 Nm
–  Turn control unit -1- around.
  A72-0417
–  Disengage retaining bracket -4- and unplug connector -5-.
–  Press in retaining tabs -3- (2x) and unplug connector -2-.
–  Detach control unit -1-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
