Removing and installing operating cable for seat longitudinal adjustment
Removing and installing operating cable for seat longitudinal adjustment
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Pop rivet pliers -VAS 5072-
t  Drill
t  Drill bit Ø 4,0 mm

t  Engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095-
  W00-1273
t  Seat repair stand -VAS 6136-
Removing
–  Remove seat → Chapter.
–  Attach seat repair stand -VAS 6136- to engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095-.
–  Attach front seat to seat repair stand -VAS 6136-.
–  Remove side trim (sill side) → Chapter.

–  Remove handle for seat longitudinal adjustment
–  Press cable sleeve out of support bracket in direction of -arrow A-.
–  Detach operating cable -1- for seat longitudinal adjustment from release lever -arrow B-.

Vehicles from 05.2006 onwards:
–  Drill out pop rivets -arrows- using a Ø 4.0 mm bit and detach retaining plate -1- for relay socket and wiring harness.

All vehicles (continued):
–  Release securing clip -4- at operating cable in direction of -arrow A- and lift off securing clip -arrow B-.
–  Release retaining spring -2- using a narrow-bladed screwdriver -3-.
–  Pull seat rail release lever -1- upwards out of rotary shaft.
–  Detach operating cable for seat longitudinal adjustment.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
