Removing and installing roof grab handle
Removing and installing roof grab handle
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1783-
Removing
  W00-0990
–  Open covers -3-.
–  Unscrew bolts -2-.
Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm
–  Detach roof grab handle -1-.
  Note
t  Locking fluid residue must always be removed from the threaded holes of the roof grab handle after the roof grab handle has been detached. Otherwise there is a danger of the new bolts seizing when being screwed in and then shearing off the next time you try to remove them.
t  You can use a thread tap to clean the threaded holes.
t  Renew bolts (self-locking) for roof grab handle.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
