| Check for cross-sectional constriction or blockage of corrugated exhaust pipe. Unrestricted exhaust gas outlet must be ensured over the entire cross-section. The insulating wool fitted between the inner pipe -B- and outer pipe -A- may ingress into and block the inner pipe -B- (enhanced version for vehicles manufactured since 03.03). |

| Check for proper attachment of corrugated exhaust pipe at exhaust gas outlet connection of auxiliary heater. Make approx. 10 mm longitudinal cut (dimension -X-) in inner pipe of corrugated exhaust pipe -B- in area of attachment point for clip -C-. This facilitates attachment to the exhaust pipe by way of the clip -C- (bolt tightening torque 7 Nm) (modified clip design for vehicles manufactured since 10.02). |

| Check corrugated exhaust pipe to ensure that none of the fabric inlay (fitted between outer and inner pipe -B- and -A-) projects into the inner pipe and impedes the emergence of exhaust gas. |
