Installing
–  Install in reverse order.
  Note
t  Following installation, check exhaust pipe, coolant hoses, fuel pipe and wiring to auxiliary heater (must not make contact with other components).
t  Before starting up auxiliary heater (also prior to start-up via “Basic setting” function), bleed coolant circuit → Chapter.

t  If auxiliary heater has been replaced, enter year of initial commissioning for newly installed heater on heater rating plate and new “duplicate rating plate” (in area -B-).
t  Check installation position of holders/spacers on corrugated exhaust pipe. They must be attached such that pipe cannot make contact with other components.

t  Check auxiliary heater tailpipe -A- on installing noise insulation. It must be positioned such that stress-free attachment to the noise insulation -B- is possible.
t  Check position of corrugated pipe/auxiliary heater air-intake hose. Unrestricted air inlet must be ensured over the entire cross-section → Chapter.
  A82-0351
t  Check for cross-sectional constriction or blockage of corrugated exhaust pipe. Unrestricted exhaust gas outlet must be ensured over the entire cross-section. The insulating wool fitted between the inner pipe -B- and outer pipe -A- may ingress into and block the inner pipe -B- (enhanced version for vehicles manufactured since 03.03).
t  Check for proper attachment of corrugated exhaust pipe at exhaust gas outlet connection of auxiliary heater. Make approx. 10 mm longitudinal cut (dimension -X-) in inner pipe of corrugated exhaust pipe -B- in area of attachment point for clip -C-. This facilitates attachment to the exhaust pipe by way of the clip -C- (bolt tightening torque 7 Nm) (modified clip design for vehicles manufactured since 10.02).
