CodeSignificance
Auxiliary heater operating mode on deactivation
0 The auxiliary heater was operating as supplementary heater on deactivation.
–  Only available at present for vehicles with diesel engine with no electric supplementary heater
1 The auxiliary heater was operating as auxiliary heater on deactivation.
 The auxiliary heater was deactivated
01By a deactivation signal from the control unit in dash panel insert -J285-
–  The auxiliary heater was deactivated by the driver
–  The auxiliary heater operating time set in the dash panel insert had elapsed.
02By a deactivation signal e.g. from the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051A-
–  Display group number “033” was entered by way of the “Basic setting” function and the auxiliary heater activated, e.g. via the convenience data bus system, thus shut off.
03By deactivation of the voltage at contact “12” in the vehicle connector to the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
–  A voltage of greater than 6 V was applied to contact “12” in the vehicle connector to the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-.
–  This contact is not assigned with factory-fitted auxiliary heaters. It can be used to activate and deactivate service installed auxiliary heaters not connected to the convenience data bus.

04By a deactivation signal from the control unit in dash panel insert -J285-
–  The engine was switched off and the setting in the dash panel insert is such that the auxiliary heater is deactivated when the engine is switched off.
05By a deactivation signal from the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- of the air conditioner/heater
–  The auxiliary heater had been operating as supplementary heater (activated by the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- of the air conditioner/heater), no further additional heat output was required, “Econ” mode was set or the engine was switched off
–  Only available at present for vehicles with diesel engine with no electric supplementary heater
06By a deactivation signal from the control unit in dash panel insert -J285-
–  The dash panel insert has calculated that there is not enough fuel in the tank.
07By the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
–  The maximum operating time entered in the auxiliary heater control unit -J364- had elapsed.
08By the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
–  The auxiliary heater was switched to control interval (heating operation deactivated) on account of the coolant temperature (greater than 91 °C).
09By the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
–  The flame in the auxiliary heater has gone out (flame monitor -G64- signals “not bright”)

10By the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
–  The voltage at the auxiliary heater control unit -J364- was too low
11By the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
–  Interruption of the power supply to the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
12By the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
–  On account of a fault at the auxiliary heater glow plug for heater -Q9- or in the corresponding wiring
13By the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
–  Following several attempted starts with no flame formation there is too much fuel in the auxiliary heater.
14By the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
–  The auxiliary heater control unit -J364- has detected a fault requiring deactivation of the auxiliary heater.
15By the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
–  Excess coolant temperature in the auxiliary heater (the temperature sensor -G18- detects a temperature greater than 120 °C) has resulted in deactivation of the auxiliary heater activated by the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051A- via the “Basic setting” function (display group number “011” or “022”).

16By a deactivation signal e.g. from the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051A-
–  The “Basic setting” function has deactivated the auxiliary heater activated by way of the “Basic setting” function (display group number “011” or “022”) due to entry of the display group number “033”.
17By the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
–  A “crash signal” has been received by way of the convenience data bus system.
18By the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
–  An engine coolant temperature greater than 120 °C has been received by way of the convenience data bus system.
19By the auxiliary heater control unit -J364-
–  A message indicating that the vehicle is in transportation mode (“power saving mode”, which is transmitted by the control unit in dash panel insert -J285- via the convenience data bus system), has been received by way of the convenience data bus system.
