Checking oil level in manual gearbox

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Multi-point bit -3357-

Note

t	The vehicle must be horizontal when checking gear oil level. An inspection pit or a 4-post lifting platform is ideal.

t	The oil filler plug is on the left side of the gearbox below the speedometer sender -G22-; it may be concealed by the heat shield for the drive shaft.

t	Use multi-point bit -3357- to loosen the oil filler plug.

–	To check oil level, unscrew oil filler plug -arrow-.

t	Specification: oil level up to bottom lip of filler hole

–	Top up with gear oil if necessary. Specification → Chapter.

–	Screw in oil filler plug.
