  Caution
Before installing gearbox check position of torque converter → Chapter.
  Note
t  Observe rules for cleanliness when working on the automatic gearbox → Chapter.
t  Repair instructions → Chapter.
t  Apply thin coat of ATF to oil seals. Other types of lubricant will cause the gearbox hydraulics to malfunction.
   
1 - Torque converter
q   Secure to prevent it falling out when gearbox is removed
q   Identification → Chapter
q   Installing → Chapter
2 - Oil seal
q   Renewing → Chapter
3 - Stop ring
q   Behind oil seal
q   Renew if damaged
