1 - Toothed belt cover (bottom)
q   Unbolt vibration damper prior to removing
2 - 10 Nm
q   Install using locking fluid; for locking fluid refer to → Parts catalogue
3 - Toothed belt cover (centre)
q   Unbolt poly V-belt tensioner prior to removing
4 - Toothed belt cover (top)
q   Engage carefully in centre toothed belt cover when installing
5 - 10 Nm
6 - Toothed belt
q   Before removing, mark direction of rotation with chalk or felt-tipped pen. If the belt runs in the opposite direction when it is refitted, this can cause breakage.
q   Check for wear
q   Do not kink
q   Removing → Chapter
q   Installing (adjusting valve timing) → Anchor
q   Detaching from camshaft sprocket → Chapter
7 - 23 Nm
8 - 40 Nm
9 - Tensioning roller
10 - 50 Nm + turn 90° further
q   Renew
q   Use counterhold tool -3036- when loosening and tightening
11 - Camshaft sprocket
q   Removing and installing → Chapter „Renewing exhaust camshaft oil seal“
12 - Idler roller
13 - 40 Nm
14 - 9 Nm
q   Apply locking fluid when fitting
q   Locking fluid → Parts catalogue
15 - Retaining plate for tensioning roller
16 - Retaining plate for idler roller
17 - 15 Nm
18 - O-ring
q   Renew
q   Lubricate with coolant prior to installing
19 - Coolant pump
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
20 - 15 Nm
21 - Crankshaft sprocket
q   Contact surface between sprocket and crankshaft must be free of oil
q   Can only be installed in one position
22 - 90 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) further
q   Renew
q   Do not lubricate with oil
q   Use counterhold tool -3415- when loosening and tightening
23 - Idler roller
24 - 33 Nm
