Removing and installing front exhaust pipe

Removing –  Remove front right wheel. –  If fitted, release quick fasteners -2- and -3- and remove rear noise insulation.

–  Unbolt heat shield -1- for drive shaft (right-side).

–  Remove bolts -arrows- securing starter catalytic converter to front exhaust pipe. –  Remove bolt -1- on bracket for exhaust system.   Note To avoid any damage, the flexible joint in the front exhaust pipe must not be bent more than 10°.

–  Unplug electrical connector -arrow- for exhaust gas temperature sender 1 -G235-. –  Move wiring clear.

–  Unscrew nuts -arrows- and remove front exhaust pipe. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:   Note Renew gaskets and self-locking nuts. –  Align exhaust system so it is free of stress → Chapter. Tightening torques

Bracket for front exhaust pipe to gearbox	25
Heat shield to gearbox	23
l  1) Renew nuts.
