Removing and installing poly V-belt > < Moving lock carrier into service position
Poly V-belt for alternator, power steering pump and air conditioner compressor

1 - 25 Nm
2 - Tensioner
3 - Poly V-belt
q   Check for wear
q   Before removing, mark direction of rotation with chalk or felt-tip pen. If the belt runs in the opposite direction when it is refitted, this can cause breakage.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   When installing, make sure it is properly seated on pulleys.
4 - 25 Nm
5 - Bracket for ancillaries
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
6 - 40 Nm
q   Install using locking fluid; for locking fluid refer to → Parts catalogue
7 - Alternator
q   Removing and installing → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27
8 - 20 Nm
9 - 40 Nm
10 - 20 Nm
11 - Power steering pump
q   Removing and installing → Running gear, front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive; Rep. gr.48
12 - 40 Nm
13 - Air conditioner compressor
q   On installation, pay attention to dowel sleeves in bolt holes
14 - 25 Nm
15 - Vibration damper/pulley
q   Can only be installed in one position
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
16 - Flange bolts 10 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) further
q   Renew → Parts catalogue
17 - Idler roller
q   Secured to bracket for ancillaries
18 - Special bolt, 25 Nm
q   For idler roller
q   Renew → Parts catalogue
