Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Puller -T40039-
  W00-1303
Removing
–  Pull off engine cover panel (rear) -arrows-.
  A10-1515
–  Pull off engine cover panel (front) -arrows-.
  A10-10153
–  Remove bolts -arrows-.
–  Remove air ducts -1- and -2-.
  A10-10301
–  Pull non-return valve -1- off air intake hose.
–  Remove air intake hose. To do so, release hose clip -2- and clamps -arrows-.

–  Pull pin out of fastener -arrow-.
–  Detach air cleaner housing.

–  Unplug electrical connectors.
1 - Coolant temperature sender -G62-
2 - Variable intake manifold flap change-over valve -N239-
  Note
Disregard -item 3-.

–  Unplug electrical connector -arrow- at fuel pressure sender for low pressure -G410-.

–  Unplug electrical connectors.
1 - Exhaust camshaft control valve 1 -N318-
3 - Hall sender -G40-
4 - Intake manifold flap potentiometer -G336-
5 - Hall sender 3 -G300-
  Note
Disregard -item 2-.
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and unplug electrical connectors at ignition coils.
–  Move wiring harness clear.

–  Pull ignition coils out with puller -T40039-.
  A28-0074
–  Detach crankcase breather hose -arrow-.
–  Unscrew cylinder head cover bolts (right-side) in the sequence -12 ... 1-.
–  Remove cylinder head cover.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
  Note
t  Renew cylinder head cover gaskets if damaged.
t  Renew cylinder head cover bolts if gasket is damaged.
–  Clean sealing surfaces; they must be free of oil and grease.
–  Tighten bolts for cylinder head cover to final setting in the sequence -1 ... 12-.
