Removing and installing cylinder head cover (right-side) Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Puller -T40039-

Removing –  Pull off engine cover panel (rear) -arrows-.

–  Remove cover -1- at right of engine compartment.

–  Remove bolts -arrows-. –  Disengage activated charcoal filter solenoid valve 1 -N80--item 1- at air duct. –  Remove air duct -2-.

–  Remove air cleaner housing -arrows-. –  Unplug electrical connector -1- at air mass meter -G70-. –  Remove air intake hose -2- with air mass meter -G70-.

–  Remove bolts -1- and -3-. –  Disconnect hose -4- at pipe for secondary air. –  Pull guide tube -2- for oil dipstick upwards out of top section of sump and fold forwards.

–  Unscrew toothed belt cover (front right) from cylinder head cover -arrows-.

–  Remove bolts -5- and -6-. –  Unplug electrical connectors -1 ... 4-. –  Pull out ignition coils -arrows- using puller -T40039-.

–  Detach crankcase breather hose -arrow-. –  Unscrew cylinder head cover bolts (right-side) in the sequence -12 ... 1-. –  Remove cylinder head cover. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:   Note t  Renew self-locking bolts. t  Renew gasket for cylinder head cover if damaged. –  Tighten bolts for cylinder head cover in the sequence -1 ... 12-.

–  Vehicles with auxiliary heater: remove bolts -arrows- securing exhaust pipe for auxiliary/additional heater to noise insulation.

–  Release bolts or quick-release fasteners -1- and -2- and take off front noise insulation. –  Renew O-ring on guide tube for oil dipstick and insert guide tube into hole in top section of sump. Tightening torques
