Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782-
Removing
–  Remove alternator → Rep. Gr.27.
  W00-10211
–  Remove bolts -arrows-.
–  Remove bracket for alternator.
  A17-0300
–  Detach coolant hose -1- at oil cooler.
–  Place used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782- under engine.
–  Unscrew the bolts -arrows- and remove oil cooler.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
  Note
t  Renew O-rings.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
–  Make sure the two dowel sleeves are positioned correctly when installing the alternator bracket.
–  Install alternator → Rep. Gr.27.
