Removing

  • ‒ → Pull off rear engine cover -arrows-.

  • ‒ → Screw out bolts for solenoid valve retaining plate -arrows-.

  • ‒ → Pull off front engine cover -arrows-.

  • ‒ → Unplug connector at intake manifold changeover valve -N156 -item 1-.

  • ‒ → Unplug all connectors at injectors; to do so, release connectors on underside -arrow-.

  • ‒ → Pull vacuum hose -3- off fuel pressure regulator.
  • ‒ Unscrew fuel rail from intake manifold -arrows-.

Note:

Replacement of fuel rail involves disconnecting fuel supply pipe -2- and return pipe -1-.

Attention:
Fuel system is pressurised. Wrap cloth around joint before opening system. Then dissipate pressure by carefully unfastening joint.
  • ‒ Evenly pull fuel rail upwards off intake manifold together with injectors and set it down on a clean cloth at the rear of the engine compartment.
  • ‒ Pull off clip and detach injector.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

  • ● Replace O-rings at all joints opened.
  • ● Moisten O-rings with fresh engine oil.
  • ● Make sure injectors are installed in correct position.
  • ● Make sure clips are properly connected.
  • ● Position fuel rail with secured injectors at intake manifold and press in evenly.
