Checking ignition system
Safety precautions
Observe the following so as to avoid possible injury and/or the destruction of the injection and ignition system:

◆ Never touch/disconnect ignition cables with engine running or at cranking speed.

◆ Always switch off ignition before disconnecting and connecting battery so as not to damage engine control unit.

◆ Always switch off ignition before disconnecting and connecting injection and ignition system wires (also applies to measuring instrument leads).
-
◆ If engine is to be operated at cranking speed without it starting (e.g. compression test), unplug connectors from output stages for ignition coils and from injectors. Interrogate and erase fault memory on completion of work.

◆ Always switch off ignition before washing engine.
