Removing and installing anti-theft/tilt system control unitJ529
Removing and installing anti-theft/tilt system control unit -J529-
Only the first versions are fitted with a separate anti-theft/tilt system control unit -J529-. On later versions, the anti-theft/tilt system control unit -J529- is located in the convenience system central control unit -J393- and cannot be replaced separately in the event of a fault.
–  Replacing convenience system central control unit -J393- → Chapter
Removing
–  To renew control unit, select the “Replacement” function for the appropriate control unit in “Guided Functions” mode → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
–  Switch off ignition and take out ignition key.
–  Remove rear seat bench → Rep. Gr.72.
   
–  Unscrew nuts -arrows-.
–  Unplug electrical connector -2-.
–  Detach anti-theft/tilt system control unit -J529--item 1- from floor panel.
Installing
Install in reverse order.
Tightening torque
  A94-0635
