Installing repair kit for headlight range control motor

Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Safety goggles
t  Protective gloves
  Note
t  Install repair kit → Parts catalogue if headlight range control motor is defective.
t  Renewing the entire headlight is then not necessary.
   
Removing
–  Remove headlight → Chapter.
–  Cut out cover -2- along perforation using strong carpet knife -1-.
–  Press ball head of actuator shaft downwards out of its mounting by tilting control motor.
–  Unplug electrical connector and detach headlight range control motor with cut-out cover.
–  Unscrew bolts and detach headlight range control motor from cover.

Installing
–  Release retaining tab -arrow- and detach housing cover from headlight housing.

–  Secure new headlight range control motor -1- with old bolts -2- to cover -4- from repair kit.
–  Connect electrical connector -3- to headlight range control motor.
–  Start by inserting ball head of actuator shaft in mounting on reflector from below; to do so, pull reflector to rear.
–  Secure cover with headlight range control motor to headlight housing using bolts -5- from repair kit.
–  Install headlight → Anchor.
