Removing air cleaner housing - vehicles with 1.8 ltr. turbo engine

Procedure

–	Detach cover (right-side) -1- in engine compartment.

–	Unscrew bolts -arrows-.

–	Detach activated charcoal filter solenoid valve 1 -N80--item 1- at air duct.

–	Remove air duct -2-.

–	Unplug the electrical connectors:

1 -	at solenoid valve 1 for activated charcoal filter -N80-

2 -	at air mass meter -G70-

3 -	at solenoid valve for charge pressure control -N75-.

–	Pull off hoses -4 ... 7-.

–	Disconnect hose leading to secondary air pump.

–	Move wiring clear.

–	Unscrew air cleaner housing -8-.

–	Remove air cleaner.

Note

The vacuum line leading to combination valve for secondary air is clipped onto the underside of the air intake hose.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.

–	Install air cleaner housing → Rep. Gr.24.
