Removing
–  Do not press brake pedal.
–  Remove trim at top of rear lid → Rep. Gr.70.
–  Insert screwdriver -1- into hole in rear lid through which wire is routed to high-level brake light.
–  Release retaining rail -2- of spring tabs towards right -arrow in detail view- by pressing screwdriver handle firmly to left -arrow-.

–  Starting on the right, use front-end hook -3370- to pull high-level brake light -2- out of rear lid opening -arrow-.
–  Unplug electrical connector -1-.
–  Take fastening elements for high-level brake light (4x) out of rear lid.

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

If the LEDs are defective, the complete high-level brake light must be renewed.
–  Position spring clips on high-level brake light housing such that lug -2- faces recess on spring clip -3-.
–  Make sure that the spring clip catches -4- engage in the guides -5- on the housing.
–  Position retaining rail -1- onto housing and lock in direction of -arrow-.
l  The spring clips are locked in place by the retaining rail.
–  Connect electrical connector and push high-level brake light into rear lid opening until it engages audibly.
