Removing and installing senders for parking aid (front) - vehicles from 11.2004

Removing

t	Fitting location: in bumper cover -arrows-.

Outer sender without charge air cooler/additional radiator:

–	On vehicles with auxiliary heater, unscrew bolts -arrows- for exhaust pipe of auxiliary/supplementary heater at noise insulation.

–	Unfasten bolts/quick release fasteners -1- and -2- and detach noise insulation (front).

Outer senders - vehicles with charge air cooler/auxiliary radiator:

–	Remove front bumper cover → Rep. Gr.63.

Inner senders:

–	Remove front bumper cover → Rep. Gr.63.

–	Remove radiator grille → Rep. Gr.63.

All models:

–	Unplug electrical connector -1- at sender.

–	Press both retaining tabs aside -arrows- and press out sender -2- inwards.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

Outer senders - vehicles with charge air cooler/auxiliary radiator:

–	Install front bumper cover → Rep. Gr.63.

Inner senders:

–	Install front bumper cover → Rep. Gr.63.

–	Install radiator grille → Rep. Gr.63.
