Removing and installing insert for centre console
Removing and installing insert for centre console
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Removal wedge -3409-
  W00-0016
Removing
–  Equipment version with automatic gearbox: Move selector lever to „S“.
–  Switch off ignition.
–  Remove Climatronic control unit -J255- → Rep. gr.87.
–  Use removal wedge -3409- or a small screwdriver to carefully prise out selector lever/gear lever boot at side -arrows- and fold upwards.

–  Protect trim panel for centre console all around insert for centre console with adhesive tape to avoid damaging surfaces.
  Caution
If too much force is applied when lifting insert for centre console, there is a risk of damaging catch on entry and start authorisation button -E408- as electrical wiring leading to button is relatively short. Carefully release and pull insert for centre console upwards.
–  Reach beneath insert for centre console -arrow A- and carefully lift insert out of centre console -arrow B-.
–  Unplug electrical connectors and carefully take out insert for centre console by lifting over selector lever/gear lever.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
–  Press on insert for centre console until it engages audibly.
