Detaching seat cover from padding and re-assembling (seat pan with seat depth adjustment)   Note The procedures described relate to the sports seat (front, with manual or electric adjustment) and the super sports seat. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Upholstery clip pliers -V.A.G 1634-

Removing –  Remove cover and padding from seat pan and seat depth adjuster → Chapter. –  Unclip fastening strips -2- from fasteners -5-. –  Disengage cover from lugs -4- on both sides. –  Detach mounting bracket -3- with padding for seat depth adjustment from cover -1-.

Detaching cover from padding - sports seat –  Detach cover -1- as far as possible from padding -3-. –  Release fastening strip -4- from clips -2-. –  Detach cover from padding.

Equipment version with fabric covers: –  Unclip contour wire -3- (inserted in pouch -4- of cover -5-) from clips -2-. –  Detach cover from padding -1-.

Equipment version with leather covers: –  Use pliers -4- to pinch off upholstery clips -3-. –  Detach cover -1- from padding -2-.

Detaching cover from padding - super sports seat –  Detach cover -1- as far as possible from padding -3-. –  Release fastening strip -4- from clips -2-.

Equipment version with fabric covers: –  Unclip contour wire -3- (inserted in pouch -4- of cover -5-) from clips -2-. –  Detach cover from padding -1-.

Equipment version with leather covers: –  Use pliers -4- to pinch off upholstery clips -3-. –  Detach cover -1- from padding -2-. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following: –  On equipment version with leather seats, use upholstery clip pliers -V.A.G 1634- to fit new upholstery clips.
