Deactivation of auxiliary heating
   
Deactivation of auxiliary heating
No.Operating sequence
1OFF signal
 Auxiliary heating:
l  Signal from operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- (via data bus, setting is made on MMI).
l  Signal from auxiliary heating radio controlled receiver -R64-
 Supplementary heater (for vehicles with diesel engine without supplementary air heater element -Z35- only):
l  Signal from operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- (by way of data bus).
l  Signal from vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051/- (by way of basic setting function)
2Burn-off / run-on (cooling down of heater)
 
l  No deviations in measured values and components monitored → Chapter.
 2.1Diesel
  
–  Increase in voltage at combustion air blower -V6-.
–  Deactivation of metering pump -V54-.
–  Voltage at glow plug for heater -Q9-.

–  Deactivation of circulation pump -V55- and heater coolant shut-off valve -N279-.

  Note
t  In “auxiliary heating mode”, the auxiliary heater is switched off automatically by the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- after a maximum of 60 minutes. The auxiliary heating/auxiliary ventilation time is set at the MMI (Multi Media Interface).
t  If the heater is in the control interval when shut off, it cuts out without burn-off and run-on.
t  As the supplementary heater (vehicles with diesel engine without supplementary air heater element -Z35- only, discontinuation of -Z35- and introduction of this auxiliary heater function not yet finalised) is operated with the engine running, it is hardly noticeable during heater operation. Heater run-on is audible if the engine is switched off.
