Pressing out ball bearing for flange shaft and spacer sleeve

Pressing in ball bearing for flange shaft and spacer sleeve l  Collar of tube -VW 415 A--arrow- faces press tool -VW 412-.

Removing circlip -arrow-

Levering out oil seal -1-   Note -Item 2- can be disregarded.

Installing oil seal for flange shaft (rear) –  Lightly lubricate outer circumference of oil seal and drive in onto stop. –  Pack space between sealing lip and dust lip half-full with sealing grease -G 052 128 A1-.

Pressing out flange shaft –  Before pressing out flange shaft remove circlip from flange shaft → Fig.. –  Position centre differential housing in such a way that the flange shaft does not make contact with thrust plates -VW 401- and -VW 402- when it is pressed out.

Pressing in flange shaft –  Before pressing in the flange shaft, secure the vibration damper (if fitted). Tightening torque → Item
