Risk of damage to gearbox
Do not run engine or tow vehicle with end cover removed or when there is no ATF in the gearbox.

q   Renew
3 - Axial sealing element, large
q   Renew
4 - Roller
5 - Lever
q   For selector shaft detent
6 - Spring
7 - Seal
q   For connector on automatic gearbox control unit -J217-
8 - Bolt
q   Renew
q   12x, tighten diagonally
q   10 Nm + 90°
9 - End cover
q   Removing and installing (with gearbox installed) → multitronic 0AW, front-wheel drive; Rep. gr.38
q   → Chapter „Removing and installing end cover with gearbox removed“
10 - Gasket
q   Renew
11 - Bolt
q   3x
q   5 Nm + 90°
12 - Automatic gearbox control unit -J217-
q   → Chapter „Removing and installing automatic gearbox control unit -J217-“
13 - Bolt
q   3x
q   5 Nm + 90°
14 - Hydraulic control unit
q   → Chapter „Removing and installing hydraulic control unit“
