t  Before commencing fault-finding, interrogate event memory of automatic gearbox control unit -J217- using vehicle diagnostic tester.
t  In addition, interrogate event memory of engine control unit, because faults detected by the engine control unit can also cause malfunctions of the gearbox .
t  Before commencing fault-finding, check ATF level → multitronic 0AW, front-wheel drive; Rep. gr.37.
t  Use the „Guided Fault Finding“ mode with vehicle diagnostic tester.
t  Also use all the indicated „Technical product information“ (TPI) in the → Technical Service Handbook (HST)
t  When assessing complaints and abnormal wear, refer to the training documentation → EX 335 „multitronic“, Part 2.
