Removing and installing engine mounting (right-side)   Note t  To avoid repeat repairs, proceed as follows if an engine mounting is defective: t  Renew engine mounting and corresponding bracket. t  Also renew engine mounting on opposite side; check corresponding bracket and renew if necessary. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Support bracket -10 - 222 A-

t  Engine support bracket (supplementary set) -T40093-

Removing   Note Fit all cable ties in the original positions when installing. –  Lift off foam plastic block -1- on both sides of vehicle -arrows-.

–  Set up support bracket -10 - 222 A- with adapters -T40093/6- on suspension turrets (left and right) as illustrated. –  Attach spindle -10 - 222 A /11- to engine lifting eye (right-side). –  Partly take up weight of engine with spindle.

–  Remove alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27. –  Remove front wheel housing liner (right-side) → Rep. gr.66.

–  Detach electrical connector -2- on solenoid valve (right-side) for electro-hydraulic engine mounting -N145- from bracket and unplug connector. –  Unscrew nut -1- and detach bracket with electrical wiring from subframe.

–  Remove bolts -1, 2, 4- and move clear retaining plate -3- for engine mounting (right-side).

–  Using spindle -10 - 222 A /11-, raise engine through distance -a-. l  Distance -a- = approx. 70 mm. –  Detach engine mounting (right-side). Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following: l  Tightening torques → Chapter „Assembly mountings - exploded view“ –  Install alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27. –  Install front right wheel housing liner → Rep. gr.66.
