Removing and installing coolant pipe (rear right) - engine codes CAMA, CAMB, CAPA Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Hose clip pliers -VAS 6362-

Removing –  Drain coolant → Chapter. –  Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.

–  Unplug electrical connector -1- from air mass meter -G70-. –  Unscrew bolt -3- and move clear exhaust gas pressure sensor 1 -G450--item 4- at air pipe. –  Unplug electrical connector -2- and move air pipe clear. –  Remove air hose and air mass meter -G70-. To do so, release hose clip -5- and clamps -arrows-.

–  Unbolt air intake connection -left arrows- and move it aside with air intake hose connected -right arrow-.

–  If fitted, take electrical connector -arrow- for exhaust gas temperature sender 1 -G235- out of bracket.

–  Unplug electrical connector -3- at intake manifold flap motor -V157-. –  Remove bolts -2- and -4- and move intake manifold flap motor -V157- clear to the side (with connecting rod installed).   Note In order to prevent damage to the intake manifold flap motor -V157-, the connecting rod -1- is not detached.

–  Unscrew bolt -1- and unplug electrical connector -2- for coolant temperature sender -G62-. –  Detach coolant pipe (rear right) from coolant hoses -arrows-.   Note Disregard -item 3-. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following: l  Tightening torque → Chapter „Coolant pipes - exploded view“   Note t  Hose connections and air pipes and hoses must be free of oil and grease before assembly. t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Electronic parts catalogue. t  To ensure that the air hoses can be properly secured at their connections, spray rust remover onto the worm thread of used hose clips before installing. –  Install intake manifold flap motor -V157- → Rep. gr.23. –  Install air intake connection → Chapter. –  Install exhaust gas pressure sensor 1 -G450- → Rep. gr.23. –  Fill up with coolant → Anchor.
