Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Oil seal extractor -2085-
t  Counterhold tool -3036-
t  Hexagon bolt M10 x 1.25 x 40, (from fitting sleeves -3241-)
t  Assembly tool -T10053-
t  Puller -T10320-

   
Procedure
l  Tightening torque → Chapter
–  Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.

–  Remove intake manifold (top section) → Rep. gr.23.
–  Remove toothed belt for high-pressure pump → Rep. gr.23.

–  Loosen bolt -1- for toothed belt drive sprocket approx. 2 turns using counterhold tool -3036-.

–  Remove toothed belt drive sprocket using puller -T10320-.

–  Unscrew inner section of oil seal extractor-2085- 3 turns out of outer section and lock inner section with knurled screw.
–  Lubricate threaded head of oil seal extractor, place it in position and screw it into oil seal as far as possible (applying firm pressure).
–  Loosen knurled screw and turn inner section against camshaft until oil seal is pulled out.
–  Clamp flats of oil seal extractor in vice and use pliers to remove oil seal.
–  Clean contact surface and sealing surface.

–  Press in new oil seal as far as stop using press sleeve from -T10053- and hexagon bolt M10 x 1.25 x 40 -arrow-, (from fitting sleeves -3241-).
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
–  Install toothed belt for high-pressure pump → Rep. gr.23.
–  Install intake manifold (top section) → Rep. gr.23.
