Removing and installing oil filter housing for A4 Mk3 6-cylinder TDI engine

Removing and installing oil filter housing
Removing and installing oil filter housing
  Note
The seals on the oil filter housing can only be used once and cannot be supplied as replacement parts. After removing the oil filter housing, it must always be renewed.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Hose clip pliers -VAS 6362-
Removing
–  Remove front coolant pipe → Chapter.
–  Remove oil filter element → Booklet811, → Booklet812 or → Booklet818.
–  Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Remove oil pressure switch -F22- and oil pressure switch for reduced oil pressure -F378- → Chapter.

–  Open hose clips -1 and 2- and disconnect coolant hoses from oil filter housing.
–  Remove bolts -arrows-.
–  Detach oil filter housing and unplug electrical connector -3-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torque → Chapter „Oil filter housing, oil pressure switches - exploded view“
  Note
t  Renew oil filter housing.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Electronic parts catalogue.
–  Install oil pressure switch -F22- and oil pressure switch for reduced oil pressure -F378- → Chapter.
–  Install poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Install oil filter element → Booklet811, → Booklet812 or → Booklet818.
–  Install coolant pipe (front) → Chapter.
