Buttons are integrated in the steering wheel in order to make the infotainment, telephone and navigation systems easier to use. On vehicles with tiptronic, rocker switches are also fitted on the right and left side of the steering wheel. |
The multi-function steering wheel control unit -J453- (under the right-side button) reads out the button information and transfers it to the steering column electronics control unit -J527- via the LIN bus. From the steering column electronics control unit -J527- the information is transferred to the individual components via the CAN bus (convenience) and the data bus diagnostic interface -J533-. |
