Removing and installing digital sound package control unitJ525 (MMI up to week 44/08)
Removing and installing digital sound package control unit -J525- (MMI up to week 44/08)
The digital sound package control unit -J525- is located behind the luggage compartment side trim (left-side) at the top of the infotainment rack.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Protective cap for cable connector -VAS 6223/9-
–  When renewing control unit, select „Replacement“ function for appropriate control unit in „Guided Fault Finding“.
To do so, use → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
–  Switch off all electrical equipment.
–  Remove ignition key.
Removing
–  Open left-side luggage compartment storage area.
It is not necessary to remove rack.

–  Remove bolts -arrows- on rack -2- and swivel digital sound package control unit -J525--1- into luggage compartment.

–  Release and unplug connector to MOST bus -2- on digital sound package control unit -J525--4-.
  A91-10944
–  Fit protective cap for cable connector -VAS 6223/9--1- onto MOST bus connector -2-.
  A97-0760
–  Release and disconnect connectors -1- and -3-.
–  Take out digital sound package control unit -J525--4-.
Installing
–  Install in reverse sequence of removal.
Tightening torques → Chapter
  A91-10944
