| Locking and unlocking the steering column |
| The control unit J764 unlocks the steering column when: |
| –
| The ignition key is inserted into the entry and start authorisation switch -E415-. |
| –
| Terminal S is activated by pressing the entry and start authorisation button -E408- (for „Keyless Entry“). |
| The control unit J764 locks the steering column when: |
| –
| The ignition key is removed. |
| –
| The door is opened (when using keyless entry). |
| To lock the steering column the following additional conditions must be met: |
| –
| The ignition must be off. |
| –
| No terminal S should be detected. |
| –
| The vehicle must be stationary. |
