The immobilizer V uses an entirely new type of operating logic for terminal control and for starting the engine. When the key is inserted (S-contact), the electronic ignition lock only differentiates between two different key positions:
t  Key at home position, corresponding to S-contact on
t  Key pressed
This results in the following operating concept:

An emergency engine shut-off is also implemented which is the same for manual and automatic gearboxes. The following actions result in an emergency engine shut-off:
–  Pressing and holding key
–  Pressing key twice in one second
