| The opened door is detected by the driver door contact switch -F2-. The driver door control unit -J386- scans the switch status and places the information on the data bus. |
| The fog lights are then switched on by the onboard supply control unit -J519-, and the rear lights and number plate light are switched on by the convenience system central control unit -J393-. On vehicles with bi-xenon headlights, the side lights are also switched on. |
| The lights are switched off after the time set on the MMI. This time begins when the last door (or rear lid) is closed. |
