| When renewing the windscreen, ensure that the rain and light sensor -G397- is correctly installed. If a different windscreen type is fitted, the coding in the rain and light sensor -G397- needs to be changed. | If the rain and light sensor -G397- is defective, and if the light switch -E1- is set to AUTO, the dipped beam headlights are switched on as a safety measure. |
| The driver can adjust the sensitivity of the rain and light sensor -G397- in the MMI CAR menu. For this purpose, the exterior lighting menu includes a setting which controls when the lights are switched on. Possible settings: early, medium, late. |
